Kenneth Lay

Born Kenneth William Lay, World War II veteran, passed away in his home on October 25, 2017 after a long battle of Colon Cancer.
 
On June 6, 1928 he was born in Baltimore Maryland, to his mother Anne Schultz, and father George Lay, and three brothers.
 
He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17 where he traveled the world.  He landed at the naval base in South Boston where he met his soulmate, love of his life, his one and only, his heart, his soul, his everything, Virginia Chaprales.  They married two years later in the St. Johns Greek Orthodox Church in Boston. 
 
He had a passion for playing squash and continued his love for that sport for over 40 years. He developed long lasting friendships with his teammates. He participated in squash tournaments at Harvard University and Yale. 
 
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lay of Lincoln, MA, his son Kenneth George Lay, his two granddaughters, Brittany of Randolph, MA and Melanie of providence, Rhode Island, and his two great grandsons, Malyk and John.
 
Kenneth was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He was selfless, hardworking, successful and faced every obstacle in life with remarkable strength, honesty and humility. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his family and friends.
