Patricia Josephine Felder LahtinenPatricia Josephine Felder Lahtinen passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, May 31, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. It is with great sadness that we announce her passing after her sixteen-month battle with breast cancer.
She was born in San Antonio, Texas to Camp and Glory Felder. After graduating Thomas Edison High School in 1962, she went on to graduate from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She began teaching the same year and taught elementary age children for 45 years. From 1987 to 2012 she taught primarily kindergarten in the Southwest School District at Big Country Elementary. She retired in 2012 from teaching to spend time with family, visit the beach often, and enjoy her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette Camp Felder, Jr. and Glory Lee Henning Felder; grandparents John Lovejoy Henning and Josephine Haltom Henning: Lafayette Camp Felder Sr. and Ruth Willett Felder.
Patricia is survived by her only daughter Lory Lyn Lahtinen (Mark) and her grandchildren Kayley Taylor Simpkins and Kyle David Simpkins. She is also survived by her three siblings, Glory Lee Cross, Larry Felder (Linda), and Kathleen Felder Heath (Jim); her niece Dana Lee Bohne Nichols (Rick); nephew Robert Camp Felder (Amory); niece Claire Felder Rowell (Justin) and son Robert (Buck) Gurry Rowell; nephew John Paul Felder; nephew Adam Curry Gill (Cretia) and children Mia Grace Gill and Cannon Curry Gill; nephew Aaron Philip Gill (Sarah) and children Emke Glory Gill and James Michael Gill; nephew Christopher Russell Heath and daughter Devanee Kay Heath; nephew Patrick James Heath.
