In Memory of Gina Garcia

Regina Francis Garcia, 62, of Lakewood, California, left this world to join the next on December 3, 2017 from her final battle with cancer. Her family remained by her side until the very end.

Gina was born April 15, 1955 in Lakewood, California, to father Larry Garcia and mother Lucy Garcia, who predeceased her.  She was the only daughter growing up, having lived in a house with three brothers. Later in life, she relocated to Rochester, Washington where she raised her five children.

Gina could tell you the name of every actor or actress from any classic black and white film. Betty Davis was always her favorite. She found great joy in making gifts for her loved ones and always added a personal touch. She always left a lasting-impression on everyone she came into contact with.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Bob Boyle; three brothers, Ronnie Garcia, Richard Garcia and wife, Cathy, and Robert Garcia; three sons, Jason Backstrom, Justin Backstrom and wife, Lukila, and Eric Potts; two daughters, Brittany Thody and husband, Rob, and Alicia Potts; eight nieces, Leah, Debbie, Denise, Renee, Nikki, Vanessa, Jen, and Cambria; and four grandchildren, Riley, Olivia, Kai, and Kamaile. She was a busy lady!

A small celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
