Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Richard died on Wednesday, December 6th, 2017 at Sunnybrook Hospital. 
Loved and loving husband of Sylvie Lachance, "the love of his life." Treasured Father of Miranda and 'Ampy to Finlay and Lucia, Dear friend to Carol Kay. 
Mentoring step-father to Olivier, Aurelie, and Corinne Gagnon 
Son of the late Henry 'Chappie' and Mildred Howes.  Brother of Bill (Fikret) Wendy (the late Frank) Judy (Jim), Pat, and David (Jennifer).
Son-in-law of Lisette Bizier and the late Normand Lachance, brother-in-law to Rene and Frederic Lachance. 
Richard will be missed by his Aunt Pat, Aunt Marion, and Uncle Lawrence. He will be missed and remembered by his Aunts, Pat and Marion, Uncle Lawrence and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

-Sick Kids Hospital,
-Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital
-The Good Shepherd Ministries. 
Richard's life was full of wonder. He was spiritual, creative, humourous and generous. 
A Celebration of Life will be held at Beaches Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 16th, at 2:00pm. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Parking at Green P lots, some blocks to the west of the church.
