Built Ford Tough

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Walter A.J. Moore on September 25, 2017 at the age of 76. He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia; son of the late Charles and Mildred(Haley) Moore.

Walter was many things to many people. He spent 33 years at Daigle Lumber as a warehouse manager, and Thomsons Transfer as a truck driver for 6 years. He was a friend to Heather Bowling Lane, participating in the YCB and SCMBL with a 400 average. He was passionate about wood working, building shuffle board tables, furniture, and even homes for his family. He owned many Ford trucks and for him nothing but a Ford would do. Most of all, he loved his family, raising and taking care of everyone under that umbrella, blood related or not. Everyone was always welcome at his table, and he was never shy of a joke and smile. “The Claw still knows all”.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Claire (Brown) Moore; sons Walter Jr. (Heather) and Paul (Jane), grandchildren Gregory (Kree), Alicia (Hugo), Stephanie (Brad), and Christian; great granddaughter Summer; brother Richard (Betty). Predeceased by sister Christine; brothers Ronald, Charles, and Harold.

Mass service with be held at Saint John Vianney Church in Lower Sackville on Friday September 29, 2017 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception and a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society in Walter’s memory.

As joanne and I will out of town Friday, please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Walter. His name was well known in the bowling world as where I had most of my association with him. A good man for young bowlers to follow. R.I.P. my friend.
